An office runs best when there are systems and processes in place. Besides a filing system, most people have a time management system, a system for handling mail, incoming documents and files.
Your office, whether it’s at home or elsewhere, should operate like a well-oiled machine. If you’re a business owner, you have to have systems for accounting, customer/client sales or inventory.
To get started, look at what you have to determine what’s working for you. Keep what does, then create new systems with processes that will support you. If you don’t have systems set up currently, ask yourself what challenges you’re having; what keeps you from being productive. Set up systems based upon your needs. It may take a number of hours from start to finish, but the systems and processes you create will keep your office and business running smoothly.
